Since 2004, the 午夜影院 System has expanded its mission beyond the traditional pillars of teaching, research and service to include our responsibility to advance the growth and vitality of our state鈥檚 economy. We take that commitment seriously.
Through our continued investment in research, our development of intellectual property assets, our investment in bringing intellectual property to the marketplace with proof of concept and seed funding, and our commitment to fostering business startups in our statewide network of research parks and incubators, the university 鈥� in a myriad of ways 鈥� invests in Missouri鈥檚 economy.
This investment pays dividends for us all. It spurs quality job creation, brings additional tax revenue to the state and positions Missouri as a commercialization leader in the country鈥檚 burgeoning entrepreneurial economy.
Mission of the Office
Our goal is to link research and commercialization from the four 午夜影院 System campuses with emerging and existing firms across the state and around the world. Working closely with the chief research officers, chancellors and technology transfer offices from each campus, the office also serves as a conduit to local, state and federal partners to ensure research results aid the growth of Missouri鈥檚 economy. We strive to grow our research and economic development efforts and output as to improve our industry competitiveness using university innovations and becoming the driving force behind research and economic development for the state of Missouri.

The office鈥檚 vision is to enable and lead Missouri鈥檚 transformation toward a knowledge-based economy dependent upon innovation and entrepreneurship.
