Appropriations News


Roll Call – December 15, 2022
The Senate on Thursday cleared a one-week continuing resolution to keep the government funded through Dec. 23, as Appropriations Committee leaders distributed final spending allocations to their dozen subcommittees to ready a sprawling omnibus package, they plan to unveil Monday afternoon. The stopgap extension cleared on a 71-19 vote, likely a benchmark for potential support on the omnibus next week. That measure will start in the Senate, where the plan is to attach it to a shell vehicle the House sent over on Wednesday.

Roll Call – December 13, 2022
Under a 2023 Senate legislative calendar released Tuesday by Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., the Senate will convene Jan. 3 for the 118th Congress, but the bulk of activity will wait until Monday, Jan. 23, when the Senate will begin its first work period of the year.

Roll Call – December 15, 2022
The Senate voted overwhelmingly Thursday to pass the final defense authorization bill for fiscal 2023, clearing the sweeping measure for President Joe Biden's signature. The total amount of authorized funding would be about 10 percent higher than the fiscal 2022 level, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
